Ways To Reach: Modes Of Transportation
You can reach Munnar by plane, train or by simply taking a road trip and driving up there. Munnar is not directly connected to any airport or railway station, however you can reach there by traveling to neighboring airports and railways stations and then taking a bus/taxi for the remaining journey.
By Air
The nearest airport is Cochin which is 100 km away from goSTOPS Munnar. You may take a cab to our hostel which costs around 3500 INR. Regular bus service is also available from Cochin-check the 'by bus' section for the same.
By
Train
Ernakulam and Aluva are the closest railway stations to goSTOPS Munnar. While Ernakulam is 115 km from the hostel, Aluva is at a distance of 100 km. You may take a bus/cab from any of the two railway stations. Check out the ‘by bus’ section for the same.
The final leg of the journey (Ernakulam-Munnar, Aluva-Munnar) can only be completed via taxi/bus.
By Taxi
After arriving at the Cochin airport, you may take a taxi which costs around 3500 INR(3 hours, 101kms). If you are arriving via train at Ernakulam or Aluva, you may hire a cab which costs around 4000 INR(120kms, 3.5 hours) and 3500 INR(~100kms, 3 hours) respectively.
By Bus
Regular bus services ply to and fro Munnar. They operate on a daily basis from major cities including Madurai, Wayanad and Thrissur.
Ernakulam/Kochi: The bus stand is at a distance of around 1 km from the Ernakulam railway station. It takes 3-4 hours to reach Munnar via bus.
Aluva: There is a bus stand 300 meters from the Aluva railway station. The bus takes 3 hours to reach Munnar from here.
The buses will take you to these deboarding points-Anachal, Adimali or Munnar. If the final point for the bus is Adimali or Munnar, you may take another bus to Anachal which is closest to goSTOPS Munnar. An auto can be taken to reach our hostel from Anachal(2km from our hostel) which will cost ~70 INR.
Private taxis are also available from Adimali(16km from our hostel) and Munnar(15km from our hostel) which cost around 500 INR.
