November - February: Alleppey is an all-weather destination, however the ideal time to visit is during November to February, the months of winter, which is the ideal time to explore the backwaters of Alleppey on a houseboat.

July - September: Summers in Alleppey can be as hot as 37 degrees, which is why it isnt considered to be the ideal time to visit the city. From July to September, South India witnesses the great Indian monsoon, even though houseboat rides are not accessible during this time of the year; it is the perfect time to see Alleppey in its full glory.

By Air

The nearest airports to Alleppey are the Cochin International Airport and the Trivandrum International Airport. Both these airports cater to domestic as well as international flights from popular destinations.

By Train
